Living life to the fullest must have the presence of forgiveness as well as forgetting. Forgiveness is a conscious choice, a spiritual and physical act involving the will, a sensation or suit of feeling, an emotional state of being for letting go of the past. Try to imagine how happy we can be if we know how to forget bitter happenings in our lives. Having a feeling towards everything is fine, it seems so convincing to live great. Indeed to forgive is hard and difficult, but we must. It is a conscious choice, a spiritual and physical act involving the will, a sensation or suit of feeling, an emotional state of being for letting go of the past. Having a big pride will make you feel bad. God said, Ã¢â¬Å"Do unto to others as you would have them do unto to you. It would be very hard for one to forgive someone who has done so much wrong and leaped so much suffering on them. It is important that we forgive so that one can move on with his life and have a chance for a happier future. In the book NIGHT, a boy named Elie faced all of these hardships and people always asked him whether to forgive or not despite of all the pain, the sufferings, and challenges he had experienced? But Elie must forgive because GOD said that everyone should forgive one another, no matter what the circumstances are, hence, mobilizing us to find peace and serenity every single day of our lives. Nothing will bother us especially our inner sides. When someone else causes us emotional harm, whether intentional or not, learning to let go of this pain can be one of the most difficult transitions we would have to go through but it will enable us to live life, one which is free from worry and burden. Acknowledge that youÃ¢â¬â¢re living in real time carrying the baggage of old time. And then let go of it. Based on the book, The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren: Your past is your past, nothing can change it. You are only hurting yourself with your bitterness. The persons who have hurt you in the pass cannot continue to hurt you now unless you hold on the memories through resentment. Forgiving and forgetting is not a gradual one, it undergoes a process. How does one forget awful memories? How would one handle the situation if he/she is in too much pain? Can one ever forgive or relieve the bad memories that been caused by somebody? First, find a place where you can have a peace of mind, a quiet and a comfortable place. Sit down in a comfortable chair and close your eyes, even though it is painful and embarrassing, give some time to think what you are wishing to forget. Then, visualize a black and white picture of the situation that you are trying to forget. Afterwards, look on the illusionary replica of an experienced you hate the most. As you were looking to that picture, begin to tear it on your imagination until it turned tiny pieces where you can barely see it. Lastly, blow it away, ask if you were blowing small pieces of dust, so you know that the little speck is already gone away, and no one will ever see it. Fortunately, we are ending up forgetting the incident and forgiving the people behind the fear that circulated in their system so they could live a better life-a life without bitterness. Even the act of forgiving is difficult, forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Forgiveness may takes a lot of time, it may not easily come, it involves patience and a lengthy struggle just to reach that, because it affects the relationships that need to be work in order to reach the total completeness of forgiving. Always remember where we stand. To refuse it is to refuse God. There is no other exception. God means what He says. To forgive is hard, but we must do it at any cost.

A review and literary assessment of the short story Everyday Use by Alice Walker - Research Paper Example They ended up shining a light for generations of readers. For this story in particular, the issues that are played out are done in a very classy manner and that the characters in themselves are able to tell a story for and of themselves while still able to have participation to the story as a whole. This paper aims to review and analyze Alice WalkerÃ¢â¬â¢s story. Essentially, the main time line of the story occurs in less than a day, however it does go into several flashbacks. The story is told by a mother who initially describes her life, her former relationship with one daughter and her current relationship with another daughter. You donÃ¢â¬â¢t get a sense of who is speaking, or what the story is about until you are a paragraph or two into the story. This maybe considered a technique to keep the reader interested in toe story as a whole. Through the initial part of the story, you get a glimpse of what life was like at the time the story was set. You also get a look at how the motherÃ¢â¬â¢s children view her as well as a visualization o f how they transitioned to the current life they live through the mention of a fire in their former home. The initial part of the story also sets the pace and the mood for the rest of the story since the mood was a bit toned down but slowly exposes details as the story goes on. There was not really any big revelations regarding detail in the story until the later parts when her daughter cam to visit and exposed that she changed her name. The story depicts a much simpler time and place where the main character decides on many occasions not to trouble herself with too many details and not to fuss over trivial things. It also shows a kind of family bond that may be different from what most people know, but it is strong. Most of the story telling and narrating is one sided but the main character does provide us insight on the other characters of the story like her daughters, what they say to her, what they may think of her, as well as their descriptions and reactions to certain things. If reading in the sense of looking at the activities described in the story, it may seem like a rather mundane or shallow tale but if you dive deep into what the story is telling you, or what it is describing, or when it is set or even who the characters are, then you will be surprised to find a gold mine of information and rich depth. Sport Good for Us Essay Is sport really good for us? Sport has become our communal activity, our environment of mutual support. Sportsmen focus on challenging themselves. They liberate themselves from the presence of external competition. Humanity has always been fascinated by physical beauty. The aerobics revolution has been replaced by ashtanga and other forms of yoga that combine physical fitness with spirituality. The rise of interest in yoga is a turn to the combination of physical and spiritual health. Sport is my favorite leisure activity. I go jogging and play chess, have a swim at a moderate speed and lift weights in the morning. I never do anything which is bad for me. I keep trophies gathered on high school athletic fields on a shelf. I cherish baseball cards and athletes autographs. Ronaldos poster is a signal that he is a compelling object of my devotion. I know all hometown heroes. I like extreme sports that offer a full body experience. I am crazy about sports, like all people around me. But when I watch sports, it hurts me that athletes risk their health for my pleasure. They are super humans but their increased stress and inevitable sports injuries make me somewhat sad. Sporting injuries are inherent in commercialized sport; otherwise nobody would pay our great athletes well. Yet, there should be limitations, for sport is good for us when it brings about positive emotions in both active and passive participants of sports events. Sport events take place everywhere and on a regular basis. Viewing sports is one of the popular pastime activities. It is the feeling of connectedness that sports create with athletes, with different kinds of sports that are of interest to us, with sports achievements that we personally have missed in our lives. How good is sport for us? To profit from sports and to gain popularity, athletes risk their health because records go hand in glove with injuries. The camera follows every crash, every injury, every drop of blood spilt. It is disgusting and not good for me. I do not want to know the background of commercialized sports. For me, athletes are heroes. They make me promise myself to set on a program that would lead to achievement, not today but later, perhaps, tomorrow. I like sports enthusiasm, energy, force, and youth. Well, watching sport is good. But is it really good to know that athletes cheat us, their fans, using special technologies to become supermen physically? Do I need this deception? What is the point of it for me? I wonder whether sport has not mutated into something else. I mean, I want to know whether it has not turned into genetically-modified activity, in which genuine human ability is no more competitive, and athletes are sports machines that manufacture sports result with their body machines. I think that not sport but regular exercise is really good for me. I like jogging but I would never have a welcome as a baseball player. I am too clumsy even for beach volleyball. I like sports as they are interesting, entertaining, competitive, and spectacular. I like watching how others succeed in their sports lives. Sport is good for me, if it reveals how powerful our bodies are. But sport is of no use if it contradicts my human nature. It should be naturally but not artificially driven. I am for sport that does not cheat nature and is a real competition of strength and physical might. Using cell phones while driving is dangerous Cell phones are troublesome while driving. When a driver keeps talking or listening to music he or is not supposed to focus off the road. A cell phone makes a great difference. It is not forbidden to talk to a passenger but it is not recommended to talk to an invisible cell phone communicator. The use of cell phones is the most common distraction, but the use of a hand-held cell phone increases the risk by 1. 3 times, which is less than reaching for items on the seat or in the glove compartment. New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, California, Washington State, Utah, and Washington, D. C. prohibit drivers from using hand-held cell phones, irrespective of weather conditions: at all times, not only on wet and icy roads when a driver decides on dialing or text messaging. According to recent research, a driver talking over a cell phone is four times more endangered to collide with another vehicle than a driver who does not use a cell phone while driving. Cell phone distraction causes 2600 deaths in the United States annually. Drivers may be allowed to use cell phones in traffic jams but they must be fined if they use a cell phone while driving at moderate or high speeds, at crossroads, and on twisting and turning roads. Can you do without using your cell phone while driving? The use of cell phones may result in a drivers slower reaction while breaking or regaining speed. It may cause accidents but it may be a coincidence with some other action. So, the use of cell phone is not desirable because it involves a driver in a multi-task activity while driving. Young drivers are banned or restricted from using cell phones in 18 American states. In California, young drivers will be ticketed for using any mobile device. I do not know how a young driver will write a term paper on a laptop computer while driving but it is banned as well as a cell phone while driving. Although cell phones may cause problems, no research is available to point to the rise in deaths cause by the use of cell phones while driving. A cell phone, like any mobile device, simple makes a list of possible causes of accidents longer. But safety is safety, so while driving people should be obedient to publicly accepted behavior. A driver may use a cell phone when he or she stops the car. But in foggy weather or on wet and icy roads this driver may be injured by another moving vehicle that will not expect it there. Cell phones are life-threatening means of communication while driving. To be on the safe side, it would be fine to ban the use of cell phones while driving.

Leitmotif Was A Musical Concept Film Studies Essay Romantic music is a term describing a style of classical music that began in the late 18th century or early 19th century. Romantic music as a movement came from the formats, genres and musical ideas created in the earlier period, such as the classical period. Although it went further in the name of expression and merging of different art forms with music. Romanticism does not always refer to romantic love, although that theme was prevalent in many works composed during this time. Romanticism pieces are understood to be more passionate and expressive.1 The expansion of form within a typical composition, and the growing quirkiness and expressiveness of new composes from the new century; it became easier to identify an artist based on his work or style. Romantic music attempted to increase emotional expression and power to describe deeper truths or human feelings, whilst still trying to preserve the formal structures from the classical period. Leitmotif A Leitmotif is a musical term that means a short and constantly recurring musical phrase. It is associated with a particular person, place or idea.Ã Ã The term itself comes from the German word Leitmotiv, meaning leading motif or guiding motif. A motif is a short musical idea melodic, harmonic, or rhythmic and a significant recurring figure that has some special importance for the characteristics of a composition. Although it is usually a short melody, it can be a chord progression or even a simple rhythm. Leitmotifs can help bind a work together into a whole, and enable the composer to relate a story without the use of words. The power of the technique was used early in the nineteenth century by composers of the Romantic Period.1 Recurring themes or ideas were sometimes used in association with specific characters. Romantic music used Leitmotif to help narrate, people were aware of the musical code and the associations with characters and situations which allowed directors to define and complete plot ideas through sound. 2 Example of composers/famous pieces who used Leitmotif Richard Wagner is the earliest composer that can be associated with the concept of Leitmotif. His cycle of four operas, titled Der Ring des Nibelungen, uses dozens of Leitmotifs, often related to specific characters, things, or situations.Ã Ã Wagner raised the issue of how music could unite different elements of the plot of a music drama in his Opera; the Leitmotif technique corresponds to this ideal. Wagner used Leitmotifs for their role in musical form and emotional effect. Richard Georg Strauss, born on the 11th of June 1864 and died on the 8th of September 1949 was a leading German composer of the late Romantic and early modern eras. Strauss used Leitmotifs in many of his operas and several of his symphonic poems to create mood and emotion in his music. Arnold Schoenberg, who was born on the 13th September 1874 and passed away on the 13th of July 1951 was an Austrian composer and painter, associated with the expressionist movement in German poetry and art. He used a complex set of Leitmotifs in his choral work, Gurre-Lieder which was completed 1911. Modern composer John Williams was influenced by music of the Romantic Period and made use of Leitmotif in his film scores John Williams John Towner Williams was born in Long Island, USA, on the 8th of February 1932 into a musical family.Ã Ã In 1948, Williams family relocated to LA, where he studied music at the University of California. Following his national service in the air force John Williams went to the Julliard School in New York, where he studied piano. He also worked as a jazz pianist in clubs and on recordings. In 1956, John Williams was hired by Twentieth Century Fox as a pianist in their studio orchestra, and he was also soon writing the music for some TV shows including Lost in Space, Wagon Train and Land of the Giants.4 At the studio Williams worked with great movie composers like Bernard Herrmann and Alfred Newman. In 1967, John Williams made the A list of movie composers when he wrote the Oscar-nominated score for The Valley of the Dolls. John Williams has scored nearly 90 films and has been Oscar nominated over forty times. John Williams themes for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Superman, and ET have great appeal for the general public and his movie score albums are top sellers. Williams has also written compositions for the Olympic ceremonies which capture the true spirit of the game. John Williams was the conductor and musical director of the famous Boston Pops Orchestra, where he is still a guest conductor. As well as movie scores, John Williams has written concert pieces for such greats as Yo-Yo Ma and has conducted concerts all over the world. On December the 5th 2004 John Williams was one of the 2004 honourees at the Kennedy centre in Washington, D.C. The use of Leitmotif In John Williams films he uses a lot of music related to Wagner, such as diatonic scales for hero themes, chromatic scales for objects or negative elements, bright sounds for positive elements.Ã Ã John Williams has become of the most successful scoring composers and one of the most respected. His approach is very direct and strong, and no one in the theatre will fail to recognize any link between the themes and the characters associated with them. He has a great capacity to reach the audience like a classical composer. Jaws Jaws is an American horror and thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg in 1975. In the story, a giant man eating great white shark attacks beachgoers on Amity Island, prompting the local police chief to hunt it down.Ã Ã The main shark theme, is a simple alternating pattern of two notes, variously identified as E and F or F and F sharp which became a classic piece of suspense music, synonymous with approaching danger. John Williams uses Leitmotif in this film for the shark. Each time the shark is going to appear the same pattern is played that can be recognized by the audience. Indiana Jones Dr. Henry Indiana Jones, Jr. is a fictional professor, archaeologist, and adventurer. Indiana Jones is noted for his trademark bullwhip, his fedora hat, and his great fear of snakes.Ã Ã Indiana Jones is also the general name given to the series as a whole, which has four movies, a TV series, novels, comics, video games, and other media. In this movie Williams used Leitmotif for the character Indiana Jones. For this Williams used a diatonic scale for a hero-theme whenever Indiana was about to do something heroic and at the end of the film. Star Wars The music of Star Wars consists of the scores written for all six Star Wars films by composer John Williams. Williams scores for the double trilogy are amongst the most widely known and popular contributions to modern film music. The scores utilize a diverse variety of musical styles, many culled from the Late Romantic Period of Richard Strauss.Ã Ã The Main theme of star wars is easily the most recognizable melody and is often associated with Luke Skywalker, linking with heroism and adventure. It is heard over the beginning of all the films and forms the basis of the end title as well. The Rebel Fanfare is a short Leitmotif used extensively throughout all the episodes to represent the rebel alliance. The theme is constructed out of brassy major block chords that progress in parallel motion through intervals of a third. This results in a non-diatonic sound. 8 The force theme is a well known example of a Leitmotif. Out of all of the Leitmotifs in the series this theme is most consistently developed and consequently most difficult to attach a specific meaning. This theme can represent Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi and the Force from which they draw their power. Princess Leias theme is heard form episode III and onwards. It is a Leitmotif that represents a romanticized, somewhat naive idea of the princess and can also show that she is vulnerable. The imperial Leitmotif (not the imperial march) represents the Empire and Darth Vader in Episode IV. The Leitmotif is militaristic and is generally played by bassoons or muted trombones. 8 The Death Star Leitmotif is an imposing four chord played six times during episode IV to represent the Death Star. The Dual of Fates is another Leitmotif played in the first three episodes. It is composed from two minor Ostinatos and choral interjections that are head in The Empire Strikes Back.Ã Ã The theme is used to represent the clash between the Light and Dark Side. In Episode II, the Leitmotif is played when Anakin goes off to search for his mother, implying an internal struggle between good and evil. Anakins Leitmotif is an innocent theme that contains seeds of the Imperial March. It has a warm melody that contradicts with the harmonic instability of a number of different passages. The concert arrangement makes the fate of this Leitmotif more explicit, ending with a number of subtle renditions of phrases from the theme it foreshadows. The Imperial March or Darth Vaders Theme represents the Galactic Empire as a whole and Darth Vader specifically. It features relentless martial rhythm and dark, non diatonic harmonic support. The Imperial March represents the Empire and is nearly equilivent to a galactic anthem. It is heard with progressive prominence through Episodes II and III, signalling critical points in Anakins downwards spiral to the Dark side. In the final rendition, accompanying Vaders death Williams reverses the effect of the theme. It ends with a cadence of solos as Vader dies. Word Count 1498

Fried Green Tomatoes at Whistle Stop Cafe: Novel vs. Movie Ã¢â¬Å"I may be sitting at the Rose Terrace Nursing Home, but in my mind IÃ¢â¬â¢m over at the Whistle Stop Cafe having a plate of Fried Green TomatoesÃ¢â¬ (Flagg ). Both the novel and the movie received a number of great reviews and honors. However, the two vary greatly in content. The novel, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, brings the reader a much more detailed and very different story compared to the movie. For example, the character Vesta Adcock as portrayed in the novel is a citizen of Whistle Stop. Flagg sees Vesta as having church meetings and socials at her home and also as being the president of the drama club. Ã¢â¬Å"... Mrs. Vesta Acock, this little bird-breasted woman... whoÃ¢â¬â¢s from Whistle Stop, came in wearing her fox furs and her diamond dinner ringsÃ¢â¬ (Flagg 27). However, in the movie, Mrs. AdcockÃ¢â¬â¢s character changes completely. She does not play a woman from Whistle Stop, but Ed CouchÃ¢â¬â¢s aunt. The film shows her as a grouchy old woman residing in the Rose Hills Nursing Home Also, in the novel Flagg describes Buddy ThreadgoodeÃ¢â¬â¢s lover as Eva, the town harlot and proprietor of Ã¢â¬Å"The Wagon Wheel River and Fishing ClubÃ¢â¬ . Ã¢â¬Å"...she had slept with a lot of men..., but [Buddy] didnÃ¢â¬â¢t care. Eva was as easy with her body as she was with every thing else.... The first time she took [Buddy] to bed, she made him feel like a manÃ¢â¬ (Flagg 94). Although the movie shows Buddy in love with the most admired woman in Whistle Stop, Ruth Jamison, the film shows Buddy walking with Ruth by the river. His eyes light up when he sees her and he cares about her greatly. In fact, he was trying to retrieve RuthÃ¢â¬â¢s hat when the train killed him. Ninny Threadgoode says in the movie, Ã¢â¬Å"...his heart belonged to Ruth Jamison.Ã¢â¬ In addition, in the novel, Evelyn, who feels her life has become an endless battlefield, mainly because of her severe self-conscienceness, invented a person she used to give her courage in times she felt belittled. When someone would make her feel worthless Evelyn would think about Towanda and all the super hero battles she would fight if she really were Towanda. Ã¢â¬Å"Evelyn had even made up a secret code name for herself... a name feared around the world: TOWANDA THE AVENGER!Ã¢â¬ (Flagg 238). On the other hand in the movie, the unrefined and untamed Idgie Threadgoode thinks up Towanda. Evelyn uses... ...st scattered to the wind.Ã¢â¬ She does not find her house, although her new friend comforts her. In the movie, Ninny says,Ã¢â¬Å" Hey Evelyn, somebody stole my house. It was right here when I left.Ã¢â¬ Evelyn, who has fallen in love with Ninny, takes Ninny to her house and makes a home for her there. However, in the novel, Ninny Threadgoode goes back to her home in Whistle Stop, a growing city. There has been a lot of changes in the town, and all of NinnyÃ¢â¬â¢s memories have become rundown issuers. Despite the changes she returns to her house. Shortly after she returns, she dies a peaceful death in her sleep. Ã¢â¬Å"She wasnÃ¢â¬â¢t sick...she died in her sleepÃ¢â¬ (Flagg 378). Indeed, the movie and the novel hold many differences. Characters have changed, been eliminated, events have been left out, and relationships differed. Despite the changes, the film still managed to live up to the standards the book set. Ã¢â¬Å"Fried Green Tomatoes is a thorouly enjoyable move...,Ã¢â¬ says James Berardinelli quoted from the internet. Nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 1987, this novel has tons of material which changed in the screenplay. However, both works offer dynamic characters, an interesting plot, and charming dialogue.

The Interesting Bus Ride Home When most people think about an eventful or memorable place, they almost certainly would not picture a bus. As we all know, buses are not exactly attractive. The design scheme is the same in almost every bus: rows and rows of brown seats, a thin black aisle down the middle of the bus, hundreds of hazy windows, and the big, lemon-yellow exterior. Not many people, I am sure, would consider buses to be an important part of their lives. However, if a person were to think about it, they would realize that they probably have had at least one memorable experience in their life that took place on a bus. One of the most memorable bus experiences in my life happened when I was in fifth grade. The final bell at school had rung, so I sprinted out to the bus with a few of my friends to save seats since our bus was always crowded. After we flung our backpacks into the four back seats, we ran back inside the school to buy some Mountain Dew from the pop machine in the cafeteria. After jamming our quarters into the machine and snatching the cans out of the bin, we sprinted back outside to make sure we did not miss the bus. It was still there, in all its yellow glory, so we hurried through the doors and onto the bus. It had been wet and cloudy since that morning--a typical Oregon day--and as I made my way to the back of the bus, the faint smell of rain mingled with the rubbery-plastic smell of hundreds of little rain boots. When I finally got to my seat, I was rather unnerved to find that not only was someone sitting in my seat, but that that someone was none other than Nathaniel Larson, the most obnoxious kid in the 5th grade. I took a deep breath and said, in the kindest voice I could muster, "Nathan, you... ...int was chipped on the outside, and on the inside the chairs had holes and writing all over them. Oddly, though, this bus smelled slightly of paint, which was a huge contrast to its shabby condition. But to us, this dingy yellow vessel was beautiful; it was warm, and it would take us home. This old/new bus continued our route, and we all sat quietly, awaiting our stops. Everyone had a tired, almost forlorn look, as though they had been through much more than just switching buses. I did not have any concept of time as the bus chugged along, stopping occasionally to let people off, and all of a sudden I recognized that it was almost to my stop. I jerked out of the stupor I was in as the bus stopped in front of my apartment complex. As I gathered up my things to leave, I looked at my friends and said, "Well, this will make one interesting story at school tomorrow!"

Arthur Miller was born on 17 October 1915, in New York City. He lived in Harlem until he was fourteen. His Dad was a clothes manufacturer but lost all his money in 1929 when the stock market crashed. Due to the economic depression, which followed, when Miller graduated from high school in 1932 there was no money to send him to university. He worked for two years as shipping clerk, earning money to get him to college. He applied to the University of Michigan in 1934 and graduated from there in 1938. He worked in a Navy Yard while writing for the radio. His first successful stage play was All My Sons which opened in 1947 and later a film was made of it. Following this was the even more successful Death of a Salesman, which opened in 1949. These plays were seen as an attack on capitalism and during the McCarthy era of the 1940Ã¢â¬â¢s and 1950Ã¢â¬â¢s there was a lot of hysteria surrounding the spread of communism. Senator Joe McCarthy was very anti-communist and was adamant that any communist activities in America should be stomped out and the perpetrators jailed. Although this seemed a good idea to some, McCarthyÃ¢â¬â¢s policy was you either confess to be a communist, or give names of communists, or you would go to jail. Due to All My Sons and Death of a Salesman being seen as an attack on capitalism, Miller was summoned before the House Un-American Activities Committee that had been in operation since 1938. He was told to confess to signing his name on various petitions that the court had received or he would be jailed. Arthur Miller linked the activities of the Committee to the Salem witchcraft trials in which a few adolescent girls accused people of Salem of witchcraft. If these people did not confess to witchcraft then they would be hanged. From this he was able to write the play, The Crucible. The Crucible is about a young girl named Abigail who is in love with a married man named John Proctor. Abby and some other girls confess to compacting with the devil and are seen as saints as they start naming people who they claim to be witches. Proctor is determined to stop them and he with some others try to oppose authority to uncover the truth. Miller has used John Proctor as metaphor for himself.

This essay is about the statement above it will show how this can be shown as true or false. You could feel that Tulip is Evil by Nature or Nurture, but you might consider in which way she is, which would be different to what you firstly thought. How is Tulip evil, nature or nurture? Nature is what theyÃ¢â¬â¢re born like that and nurture is her surroundings something they picked up after birth. There was not many evidence in the book that suggested it was her nature. While reading this book I could mainly find suggestions that it was nurture so that is my option so far. Firstly I will show evidence in which it is nurture. Tulip was said to have portrayed Ã¢â¬Å"her cocky self-confident self.Ã¢â¬ While at the Palace but when at her own ghastly dwelling it was a different story. Natalie thinks when Tulip is there she is as empty as a shell. Tulip dose drowned kittens sometimes, but only because if her dad dose it, it takes hours. So she does it to save the suffering of the kitten, this shows she has some humanitarian. NatalieÃ¢â¬â¢s dad thinks that she is purely evil by nurture. Ã¢â¬Å"DonÃ¢â¬â¢t be silly. You know as well as I do that Tulip has had a rotten start to life, that it is hardly a surprise that sheÃ¢â¬â¢s insensitive to other peopleÃ¢â¬â¢s feelings.Ã¢â¬ So that could be a fight on how she is evil by nurture. At this point I am still for nurture but it could change after this. Now I will show how it could be nature. NatalieÃ¢â¬â¢s mum thinks that Ã¢â¬Å"Tulip is not stupid. Tulip knows the rules.Ã¢â¬ So in other words she thinks that Tulip is smart enough to know her boundaries. Ã¢â¬Å"Tulip is downright evilÃ¢â¬ NatalieÃ¢â¬â¢s mum and Miss Ferguson both think. Miss Ferguson also thinks that Ã¢â¬Å"That Pierce girl is malevolent by nature!Ã¢â¬ Ã¢â¬Å"Is Tulip mad or bad?Ã¢â¬ Natalie thinks that she could have just been born mad which makes her bad. Every one finds it atrocious that Tulip had been visiting the BrackenburyÃ¢â¬â¢s house, and then asking for their dead child to come out and play. Natalie wonders about her morbidity and finds out about the kitten drowning. Some of the hotel guests think that Tulip is as wicked as a witch. In conclusion I believe that my overall judgement is that Tulip Pierce is purely evil by Nurture. As I believe that no one can be born evil in less they have mental illnesses. As her dad threatens her she becomes evil by the way she is talked to and treated. Like when Mr Pierce yelled out Ã¢â¬Å"Better get home before me, Tulip, or IÃ¢â¬â¢ll snatch you bald headed!Ã¢â¬ So I think it was her upbringing and environment that caused her to be evil. I think If Tulip was a real flower and was planted in the palace she would of bloom bright and colourful. But at her own dwelling she was a shrivelled and dead flower who had not yet had a chance to bloom.

My motto used to be; you can look pretty without being pretty. People used to ask me all the time what I mean by that. The reason why I used to say that is because used to be super insecure about my appearance. That should have been pretty rare for someone who cared about their clothes as much as did. Fashion and design were my escape, when I looked nice had all the confidence in the world, I just felt so much better about myself. I felt important. I never used to tell anyone what my insecurity was but recently I have learned and realized that everyone is insecure.I believe that every life needs balance. That people should be well rounded and appreciate diversity. You should feel comfortable expressing yourself, which is really what fashion is all about. Some people try to tell us that clothes don't matter. They try to tell us that inner beauty is more important than outer. We all would like to think that people care more about what's on the inside, but that's pretty far from the tru th. How you dress says a lot about you. I do believe that everyone should respect their bodies. Eel very strongly that fashion is the easiest and most effective way to express yourself. Fashion can bring lives together. Everyone has insecurities at one time in their life, insecurities define us. But they are also a measure of our strength. The question I ask myself and others is: Can we overcome our insecurities and be proud of ourselves? Strength is our defense against the world. We need to be secure and realize we allow our insecurities to disturb our peace of mind. Feel like if you focus those insecurities on a passion or hobby your life will be more at peace.You will feel more comfortable with yourself. It's not easy to overcome insecurities. It took me awhile but I soon figured it out. We are all an abortion of society. Accepted by a few, judged by all, and rejected by most. All Of the following reasons to learn to love yourself for who you are. If you don't love yourself nobod y will. Life is full of contrasts. It has its ups and downs, rights and wrongs. It frequently fails to live up to our expectations, which is why we often at times feel disappointed.There are going to be times that no matter how hard you try you just can't accept yourself as you are. Even though you're convincing yourself that you are good enough, it just doesn't seem to work. That's because society defines beauty for you. That doesn't mean you are not. Everyone is unique in their own way. Some may say you're adorable and mom might not. You can't please everybody. If you are fat, you're a glutton. If you're thin, you're anorexic. If you read, you're a nerd. If you don't, you're stupid.If you're friendly, you're fake. If you are silent, they call you rude. You just can't do something without being labeled by the society. Labels are not important so don't change yourself just because you don't fit their standards of who you should be and what you should do. No one's perfect, not even t he people who tell you that you aren't. Even if you put your heart, soul, skills and all you have in it, you will never find he perfection you are searching for because there is always a blemish in everything.Fight the negativity of life that is bothering you and think positive all the time. So stop wishing to become someone else. Stop hating your body or your personality and love them instead. If you do, you will learn to appreciate others imperfections and eventually, you can also help them recover and discover the beauty they have within. My new motto is; always remember that you are special and different from them and that difference makes you who you really are. Conducting a family assessment is a challenging and important step in the care of the client. It is essential to identify problems and situations inhibiting a family from practicing healthy behaviors and developing healthy habits to thrive in the home and community. Identifying problems then deciding the family nursing diagnosis and planning interventions beneficial to the family is the next step in the clientÃ¢â¬â¢s care. Three Family Nursing Diagnoses The three family nursing diagnoses identified to assist SS and her family are anxiety related to several short- and long-term stressors, delayed growth and development related to CSÃ¢â¬â¢s handicaps, and chronic pain related to SSÃ¢â¬â¢s rheumatoid arthritis. These nursing diagnoses were most appropriate for this family. Healthy People 2020 Indicator The indicator chosen that links to the nursing diagnoses mentioned above is social determinants (Ã¢â¬Å"Healthy People 2020Ã¢â¬ , 2012). This indicator is relevant to the identified family nursing diagnoses because of numerous reasons. CS has a disorder that has caused him to have developmental delays and numerous health issues. He reports getting bullied at school periodically, is in special needs classes, and will not be able to live independently. The indicator is also relevant because of the number of stressors SS has identified through the family assessment that affects the familyÃ¢â¬â¢s lives daily. Researching information on Healthy People 2020 andÃ specifically the social determinants indicator reveals that assisting the client and her family with healthy behaviors, physical activity, assistance with dealing with stress-related issues leads the family to being successful members of the community and being successful in tasks necessary for improved health and longer life expectancy. Linking the indicator to the family nursing diagnoses will also provide the family with strategies to deal with school, community, and workplace issues that are barriers to accomplishments within the family. Opportunities for Community Health Nursing Interventions One opportunity where I can make a positive impact with community health nursing interventions would be providing a lecture at CSÃ¢â¬â¢s high school about bullying. This would be beneficial for students in many high school communities. The lecture should include information about why children bully each other, strategies for how to deal with bullies, and why bullying is wrong. Another way to influence in a positive way is provide SS and her family ways to deal with the issues that cause the most stress in the family, whether it is financial concerns, time management issues, or health concerns. Conducting family meetings to share responsibilities for chores around the house, making the children aware of what can be afforded monetarily month to month, and ensuring the family is keeping regular health check ups are a few techniques that may be beneficial. Making sure SS is aware and takes advantage of workplace assistance for a variety of reasons is another opportunity to make a posit ive impact on her family and on the social determinant indicator. Health Education Topics There are a number of topics related to health education that would be beneficial to SS and her family as well as any community. One topic SS may find helpful deals with emotional wellness, which is a subject I have spent time discussing with SS and her family. Finding a balance between everything going on in oneÃ¢â¬â¢s life, such as school, work, sports, or other activities is necessary in protecting emotional health. Another topic relates to stress, which is another area of concern for SS. There are different levels of stress and they can be short-term and long-termÃ stressors as SS has identified within the family assessment. Stress does not have to be bad, but how to deal with it is what makes the difference. Developing and learning coping strategies are helpful in managing stress. Here is where the emphasis in education should be. Nutrition and physical activity is another health education topic beneficial for everyone. SSÃ¢â¬â¢s oldest son who is in college could be a target of this topic, as college students are not known to have healthy eating or sleeping habits. Diet teaching and assistance with developing a physical activity plan would be a focus of the education (Ã¢â¬Å"Health Education CenterÃ¢â¬ , n.d.). Conclusion A family assessment is a vital step in diagnosing what potential problems and areas for improvement a client may have. Evaluating aspects of the family unit including family history, support system, stressors, and social structure will aid in determining and prioritizing the family diagnoses.
